What is IV Fluid Therapy?

IV fluid therapy is most often used in the treatment of dehydration and other associated symptoms. People can become dehydrated (which is the lack of sufficient fluids in the body) by not taking in enough fluids or by losing too much fluid.

Our bodies are made up of about 75% water, and therefore our health is dependent on a sophisticated water management system. There are times, however, where people are not able to drink enough fluids because of nausea, sickness, sore throat or diminished appetite. Fluid loss can result from sickness and resulting vomiting, diarrhea, excessive urine and sweat.

According to one study reported in Medical News Today, dehydration of this sort can lead to a number of symptoms, including lethargy, headaches, dry mouth, low urine output, eyes that are sunken and overall lack of alertness.

Patients who are experiencing these types of symptoms should call one of our Concierge Doctors at My Concierge MD to immediately administer IV Fluid Therapy in the relaxing atmosphere of our Concierge Medical Practice Beverly Hills office or in your home, hotel or office. As with IV Vitamin Therapy, you may relax with music, read a book, watch a film or television or work on your laptop.

My Concierge MD doctors have administered IV fluids to patients with flu/cold symptoms (including diarrhea), nausea and various illnesses in order to help then feel better at a more rapid pace. IV hydration therapy helps replenish lot fluids and volume fast and effectively. IV fluids at home is provided by our iv nurses in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles area.
